Am reaching the end of my day...

But wanted to note that now-- Tuesday at 1930-- it is pouring down rain. I'll make it through another 20 minutes or so of an episode of Commissaire Magellan and then say Compline and go to sleep.

The rain has stopped and has left this morning's 44 degrees feeling cold, whatever the Feels like nonsense on the weather mages' sites may indicate. I'll wear a jacket when I go out to vote later on and to the supermarket-- yes, today is the day when I shall drop my ballot into the ballot box; it is like a differently decorated mail box only rather stouter in its proportions.  Today is the feast of Pope Saint Evaristus, martyr (or, after 1955, the Wednesday after the 20th Sunday post Pentecosten with the commemoration of the Holy Martyr). Am going to presume that at Saint-Eugène the priest will say the Sunday Mass with the commemoration. But we shall see.

It didn't much feel cold after all, once I had a shower and moved out of the house; but I froze whilst saying Matins and Lauds. Am imbibing a second cup of tea as I catch up with the mail but voting was as portentous as it ought to be; I prayed to Our Lady Immaculate who is Patroness and Saint Michael and our own Angel-- of course I had already marked the ballot so if some inspiration had suddenly overcome me... there is a procedure for 'fixing' an already sealed ballot but it is of Byzantine (in the pejorative sense) complexity. Back to the mail.

Ha; M. l'Abbé is vested in what I believe is violet, so not Sunday's Mass. It is Si diligis me for Saint Evaristus; perhaps those are really red vestments not violet, the video nonsense playing a trick. My ordo, so far as the colors go, is marked R  and V i.e. red or green; perhaps it is just that Saint-E. doesn't possess an acceptably 'nice' set of 'ordinary' red vestments? I know that there is a set of them for Solemn Masses (or at least I believe I do).

Introitus. Ioann. 21, 15, 16 et 17. Si díligis me, Simon Petre, pasce agnos meos, pasce oves meas. Ps. 29, 2. Exaltábo te, Dómine, quóniam suscepísti me, nec delectásti inimícos. V/.Glória Patri.

Collecta.

Amen.

Ps. 106, 32, 31. Exáltent eum in Ecclésia plebis : et in cáthedra seniórum laudent eum. V/.

Offertorium. Ierem. 1, 9-10.

Secreta. Oblátis munéribus, quǽsumus, Dómine, Ecclésiam tuam benígnus illúmina : ut, et gregis tui profíciat ubique succéssus, et grati fiant nómini tuo, te gubernánte, pastóres. Per Dóminum.

Communio.
Matth. 16, 18. Tu es Petrus, et super hanc petram ædificábo Ecclésiam meam.

Postcommunio. Refectióne sancta enutrítam gubérna, quǽsumus, Dómine, tuam placátus Ecclésiam : ut, poténti moderatióne dirécta, et increménta libertátis accípiat et in religiónis integritáte persístat. Per Dóminum nostrum.
