Still ninety minutes or so until sunrise...

So there is no visible indication yet of the awakening Dawn, not that I can see with the laptop open and the reading light on, anyway. It is 48 degrees and predicted by the one coven of mages to reach 68 later on-- a twenty degree range is unusual but perhaps I am just forgetting, after the dry season begun in May, what is more or less ordinary in these months. Today is the feast of the Imprinting of Saint Francis's Stigmata and the Saturday infra hebdomadam XIVa post Pentecosten. I believe that this is probably the only day of the year when Saint Bonaventura is read at Matins; the lessons from Saint Francis's feast in October are, I suppose, his legenda from one version or another. The Mass Mihi autem absit gloriári is said both today and on the feast of the Saint's Transitus, 4th October, if Divinum Officium is a reliable guide here; the video recording from Saint-E. is available (since it was celebrated at midnight, my time; I was fast asleep at that point). Dawn is behaving with much decorum this morning but is still quietly uprising-- yet again I've not noticed when this began.

Introitus. Gal. 6, 14.

Matth. 16, 24-27. In illo témpore: Dixit Jesus discípulis suis: Si quis vult post me veníre, ábneget semetípsum, et tollat crucem suam, et sequátur me.

Secreta. Múnera tibi, Dómine, dicata sanctífica: et, intercedénte beáto Francísco, ab omni nos culpárum labe purífica. Per Dóminum.

Communio. Luc. 12, 42. Fidélis servus et prudens, quem constítuit dóminus super famíliam suam: ut det illis in témpore trítici mensúram.

Postcommunio. Deus, qui mira Crucis mystéria in beáto Francísco Confessóre tuo multifórmiter demonstrásti: da nobis, quǽsumus; devotiónis suæ semper exémpla sectári, et assídua ejúsdem Crucis meditatióne muníri. Per Dóminum.
