Feria IVa infra Octavam Paschae...

We have moved onward from Easter and its two 'duplications', the Monday and Tuesday diei Paschatis, into the remainder of the Octave, the days of which are called infra Octavam Paschae. The Traditional Calendar marks this change by ranking these days semiduplex; the three days of the Pasch are of the highest rank, duplex prima classis, doubles of the 1st class: this means, inter alia, that the antiphons are doubled throughout each day i.e. sung or recited in full both before and after the Psalm. I believe that in the Pauline Rite the doubling of antiphons was made universal.

The Introit of today's Mass Veníte, benedícti Patris mei is particularly lovely, if I remember correctly.

The lesson is again from the 3rd chapter of the Acts of the Apostles-- Deus Abraham et Deus Isaac et Deus Iacob, Deus patrum nostrórum, glorificávit Fílium suum Iesum, quem vos quidem tradidístis et negástis ante fáciem Piláti, iudicánte illo dimítti-- and so on.

The Gradual is Haec dies with the verse Déxtera Dómini fecit virtútem, déxtera Dómini exaltávit me and the Alleluia is Surréxit Dóminus vere et appáruit Petro.

A different version of the Victimae paschali laudes than the plainchant today, if I can find one.

The great mystery of the 153 fishes! The Gospel is from the 24th chapter of Saint John's Gospel.

The antiphona ad Offertorium.

The antiphona ad Communionem.

The Regina caeli laetare. I will admit that this is my favorite Marian antiphon, both because of its joyfulness and that of the season and because I can easily sing it.
