Phoebus is struggling to illumine the day...

And is making slow progress at it. At 0400ish when I was out walking there was a slight falling of rain but not at 0700ish during the second walk, and not now.

Looking over the program at Saint-Eugène, I notice that Sol sub nube latuit from Sunday, set to music from the Magnus liber organi, is reprised. Conduit is conductus in Latin and is a form (there is doubtless a better noun) of the organum; the French Wikipedia article. Victoria's Ave Maria returns, too.

O Marie conçue sans péché, priez pour nous qui avons recours à vous!

O Mary conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse unto Thee!

This is the first Solemn High Mass I've seen streamed from Saint-Eugène since... oh, well, I can't recall; a while, certainly. And M. Durodié has a (presumably) new biretta!

Now, after Mass, it is raining and I am on my way out for a walk (with stops at the supermarket and the pharmacy).
