Dawn is rousing herself, although it seems to be...

Rather cloudy. The much-heralded rain is falling-- this is the mages' prediction this morning-- after midnight tonight, as Saturday begins. Hmm. It is the feast of Saint Francis's reception of the Holy Stigmata (Introibo, CE [the article is about the phenomenon of stigmata in general], Wiki [the primary article on Saint Francis, in which the impressio Stigmatum is mentioned]) and the Friday of Embertide in September under the old rubrics (I decided to keep the Office of Embertide this week; since I missed Wednesday, ahem, keeping the fast etc this week in addition to next week means only one 'extra' day so am not much challenged by this). The Mass is Mihi autem absit gloriari, as on the feast of Saint Francis on 4 October; the orations and Gospel lessons are different.

It is also the feast of Saint Hildegard (12th century), of Saint Robertus (17th century), and of Saint Sevoldus (8th century).

V. Et álibi aliórum plurimórum sanctórum Mártyrum et Confessórum, atque sanctárum Vírginum. R. Deo grátias.
