Clear skies in every direction and so Dawn is mildly fading into...

Day in half an hour or so. Today is the feast of the confessor Saint John Eudes (Introibo, CE, Wiki); the Mass is Os iusti meditabitur sapientiam. If ever this 'Doctor of the Sacred Heart' is in fact made a Doctor Ecclesiae, I expect he would be given a different Mass.

Today begins the novena preparatory to the feast of the great Saint and Doctor Augustine. I've never prayed this before this year but it seems to be a fitting act of piety.

It is also the feast of Saint Louis (13th century), of Saint Andrew (3rd-4th century), and of Saint Bartholomew (12th century).

V. Et álibi aliórum plurimórum sanctórum Mártyrum et Confessórum, atque sanctárum Vírginum. R. Deo grátias.
