47 degrees, a splendid morning harbinger of the...

Autumn near approaching; am listening at last to the Sunday recital from Żelazowa Wola by Ludmil Angelov, the jays and squirrels have been adventuring for peanuts, the bacon is done frying. Today is the feast of the Apostle Saint Bartholomew (Introibo, CE, Wiki). The Mass Mihi autem nimis honorati is said.

Ant. ad Introitum. Ps. 138, 17.

Mihi autem nimis honoráti sunt amíci tui, Deus : nimis confortátus est principátus eórum.

Ps. ibid., 1-2.

Dómine, probásti me et cognovísti me : tu cognovísti sessiónem meam et resurrectiónem meam.

That YouTube provides a recording of the Introit is doubtful... but I am happily proved wrong.

The Angelov recital.

I finished Prime before beginning this so Terce is next, after breakfast. On the agenda today is a telephone call to the doctor's office to find out what I need to do in response to Dr M.'s abandonment of that practice (he's moving to one in Springfield, eh). I can follow him over there, as I understand it, or have a different doctor from the River Road practice. Am inclined to stay where I am-- Dr M. is pleasant enough but not so fantastical that I'm prepared to follow him to the ends of the earth; the weights dangling from his ears are a distraction-- but we shall see. Just had the annual check-up last month, I think. The fact of the matter is that travelling to the Springfield office will add perhaps fifteen minutes to the round-trip time spent on a visit to the doctor's.

It is also the feast of Saint George (8th century), of Saint Audoenus (7th century), and of Saint Calepodia (ante 5th century).

V. Et álibi aliórum plurimórum sanctórum Mártyrum et Confessórum, atque sanctárum Vírginum. R. Deo grátias.
