The Conseil d'Etat has quashed the French government's...

Interdiction of public worship in the churches; this is Le Figaro's report. Honestly, I figured that this was a symbolic undertaking by the FSSP et al with little hope of success. Unfortunately, the government will now, presumably, impose a limit (10? 25?) to the number of persons allowed to assemble in a particular temple. We shall see.

And here in Oregon, a judge has ruled that Governor Brown's executive order closing houses of worship is 'null and void' because... reasons (by which I mean I have other things to do just now but wanted to link to this). The governor has gone to the Supreme Court, of course-- we shall see-- but I enjoyed reading that the circuit judge refused to stay his order simply because of the majesty and rightness of the governor.

[The churches represented in the lawsuit] have so far respected the governor’s order banning gatherings of more than 25 people and discouraging Oregonians from being around more than 10 people at a time, according to [attorney] Hacke. But the churches no longer believe such an order is justified, the suit says.

Tuesday morning. At some point yesterday, the Oregon Supreme Court did indeed-- am not sure what the correct phrase is-- tell the circuit court judge, in defense of Governor Brown's orderings and decreeings, to go jump in a lake (in one of the now open state parks). We shall see.
